Mou, who hasn’t spoken to her mother Preeti Sanyal for years in a row, learns of her
death in Darjeeling, India. To her surprise, she discovers her mother was involved
with a biotech company called Future Life, which uses AI to create robotic, conscious
avatars of the deceased.
Themes: The play acts as an “autopsy of the soul,” exploring the ethical
implications of technology, the nature of consciousness, and the pain of
unresolved family trauma.
